Can Organic Farming Counteract Carbon Emissions?

The Wall Street Journal recently reported on a Rodale Institute report on the potential for “regenerative” organic farming systems to offset all of humanity’s carbon emissions. Read about it here.

The more I read about this sort of thing, the more hopeful I become that regenerative, organic agriculture can put all the excess carbon we’ve mined out of the ground and spewed into the atmosphere back into the ground, where it can boost the fertility of the soil. As they say in permaculture, “the problem is the solution”.
